Concerned authorities have demanded the formation of a commission to regulate nuclear and radioactive substances. These substances are used in medical field and also in the study of plants and animals. Participants at an interaction organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology in the Capital on Friday stressed the need to form a commission for extracting and producing such substances. Putting his view on the matter, Ministry Secretary Sarbajit Prasad Mahato informed that a bill related to this would be tabled in Parliament within three months.
Also on the occasion, Joint Secretary Ram Aadhar Sah emphasised the need to make general people aware of the impact of such substances on human health. Likewise, legal expert Bishwo Bandhu Poudel viewed that concerned authorities should be sensitive in handling such substances because of their negative effects on human health.
